FAQ
Common questions about InnerOS — the AI self-talk journal that takes overthinkers from overthinking and anxiety to inner calm in 10 minutes.
About the product
Can I use this at 2am when I'm spiraling?
Yes. InnerOS is always awake. Tap 'I need help now' for instant grounding — the 5-4-3-2-1 technique, box breathing, or a quick 10-minute session where every part of you writes back. We built this for exactly those moments when you can't stop replaying it.
How does it actually work?
You bring whatever you're going back and forth on. InnerOS structures it into a 10-minute session — different parts of you weigh in, every part of you writes back, and the session ends in a concrete next step (a small action, a mental note, a grounding practice, or permission to just sit with it). You walk away calm, not exhausted.
How long does this take?
10 minutes to inner calm. That's the promise. Quick breathing exercise? 3 minutes. Full session? 10–15 minutes. Most people walk away with a clear next step in a single session. We're anti-dopamine by design — we want you OUT of the app, not endlessly scrolling.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a stranger giving generic advice. It forgets everything between sessions. It doesn't know your patterns. InnerOS remembers — across weeks and months — which parts of you tend to show up at 11pm versus on a Sunday morning, what you've decided before, and what worked. Every session ends with a concrete next step, not a wall of text. And your journal is encrypted at rest with AES-128; no human reads your words.
How is this different from Calm or Headspace?
Those apps help you relax. That's valuable. But sometimes you don't need to relax — you need to decide. Calm and Headspace use guided meditation to quiet the mind. InnerOS structures the back-and-forth in your head into a 10-minute session that ends in inner calm. Use Calm to wind down. Use InnerOS when every part of you needs to write back.
Is this therapy?
No. InnerOS is a structured self-reflection tool, not therapy. It complements therapy beautifully (your therapist will love what you bring in) but it isn't a replacement for working with a licensed professional. If you're in crisis, please contact a crisis line.
What if I don't like the next step it suggests?
Good. That's the point. The session offers four kinds of paths — settle your body, take a step, set a mental note, or just sit with it. You pick. If none of them fit, that itself is information: you now know more about what you're not willing to do, which is half of any decision.
Who it's for
Who is InnerOS for?
InnerOS is for overthinkers — people who go back and forth in their head and can't stop replaying it. Founders making big calls, parents up at 2am, students stuck on majors, creatives blocked, coaches between sessions, couples after a fight. The ICP is psychographic, not demographic. If you spiral, this is for you.
What does an InnerOS session end in?
Every session ends with one of four concrete next steps: settle your body (a grounding practice), take a step (a real-world action), set a mental note (a quiet truth to carry), or just sit with this (permission to rest). You pick one. You walk away decided, not exhausted.
Will InnerOS make me stop overthinking?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. The promise of "stop overthinking" is a lie the wellness industry sells. You can't stop thinking. What InnerOS does is structure the back-and-forth into a 10-minute session that ends in resolution. The thinking still happens; it just stops costing you sleep, decisions, and energy.
Pricing
How much does InnerOS cost?
$9.99/month or $79.99/year (yearly saves ~33%). Regional pricing for India: ₹199/month or ₹1,499/year. 14-day free trial — card required, cancel anytime. Existing subscribers are grandfathered if we ever raise prices.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime, no questions asked. If you cancel during the 14-day trial, you won't be charged.
Will the price ever change?
If we ever raise prices, existing subscribers stay at the price they signed up at. No surprise increases.
Privacy
Is my data safe?
Yes. Every session is encrypted in our database with AES-128 (Fernet). No human at InnerOS — including the founder — can read your sessions in the normal product flow. Not your work conflicts, not your relationship doubts, not anything you write.
Do you train AI on my data?
No. Your sessions are private to you. We do not use them to train AI models.
What if I delete my account?
All your data is permanently deleted. We don't keep backups of user content after account deletion.
Therapy and clinical context
Is InnerOS a replacement for therapy?
No. InnerOS is a structured self-reflection tool. It complements therapy beautifully — many users say their therapists love what they bring in — but it is not a replacement for working with a licensed mental health professional. If you are in crisis, please contact a crisis line.
Is InnerOS based on a real therapeutic framework?
Yes. InnerOS is grounded in Jungian archetypal psychology and Internal Family Systems (IFS) — both well-established psychotherapy traditions. The product translates these frameworks into a daily-use experience for overthinkers, not a clinical tool.
My therapist uses IFS — can I use InnerOS between sessions?
Many users do exactly that. InnerOS uses the same parts-based language as IFS, so the work you do in session reinforces the practice in the app, and vice versa. We have a dedicated /for/coaches page if you're a practitioner.
